Hall of Fame now has Abba Rock and Genesis

thestoogesOn Monday of this week were admitted to the Hall of Fame Rock and Roll pop group Abba, the British rock group Genesis, the representative of reggae, Jimmy Cliff, the Hollies and the Stooges, ceremony held at Hotel Waldorf Astoria in New York.

Abba's representation at the event was conducted by Benny Andersson and his ex-wife Annu-Frid Prinzessin Reuss, known among fans of the group as Frida. Meanwhile Andersson played the piano the song "The Winner Takes It All", famous in the 80s, for whose interpretation had the singer Faith Hill.

Abba was the band in the '70s phenomenon, leaving successes marked as "Dancing Queen" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You". Their separation came in 1982.



The Stooges, led by singer Iggy Pop made his interpretation of his 1973 hit song entitled "Search and Destroy".

Jimmy Cliff made his presentation following the introduction by Wyclef Jean which highlighted its key role of Cliff along with Bob Marley in Caribbean culture. Cliff sang "The Harder They Come" in 1973, popular from the hand of the eponymous film and the reggae icon.

Within the guild of composers were accepted figures such as Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman, and Otis Blackwell.

The selection of artists that make up the Hall of Fame was conducted among 600 representatives of the music industry as a primary condition which have released their first album 25 years ago.

The compendium of figures accepted by the Hall of Fame is displayed in the museum's permanent exhibition Living in the city of Cleveland, Ohio.
